After getting in at 04.30am from Saturday night, I enjoyed a nice lie in on Sunday morning with the beautiful sunshine gently waking me up. Sunday's are one of my most favourite days of the week. Nine times out of ten, I have brunch with my family on a Sunday and I love it. No one is in a rush, and we all get together and share gossip and talk about the night before. It is a Cook Family tradition! I just now have to pass my bacon onto dads plate, but I still really enjoy a nice cooked breakfast. My mum makes lovely gluten free bread, so I'm able to have scrambled eggs on toast. I also had mine with a bit of avocado and sweet potato chips. I am a massive chip fan, but now that I can't have fried foods I don't have them often. My sister is so thoughtful that she made me oven baked sweet potato chips which were delish, and also a good source of energy for the day.
This Sunday was slightly different, as me and my sister had plans to go to a charity party that our friend Luke Burr was singing at in the afternoon. It was 'The Boob Summer Ball' thrown by TOWIE stars Ferne McCann and Lydia Bright in aid of the Charity Coppafeel. I was really looking forward to it, especially as it was such a nice sunny day out, but I was stressing (as usual) about what to wear. After a fair few outfit swaps, and a fashion show for my family members, I decided to wear a pale pink jumpsuit. I find it hard to feel comfortable at the best of times, but when I'm feeling not well and like I don't look like 'myself' it's even worse. Due to a late night, a drink, and some percy pigs (I couldn't resist) I woke up feeling not 100% and with a puffy face... This is one of my symptoms when in a Crohn's flare up. The right side of my face swells up, and also around my cheeks and eyes. My face just looks not right and I would describe my appearance as a wax work. No matter how much make up I put on, I just still didn't look 'right'. To anyone else, I would look fine. It's only my mum really that can point it out. I notice her staring at me and know she's going to say 'do you feel ok?' In honesty, I didn't feel 'ok' but I really didn't want to miss out. My tummy was hurting, I felt hot, I felt faint, I could feel ulcers coming in my mouth, I just wanted to put a trackie on and wipe my face, but I am a bad sufferer of FOMO (fear of missing out) ha. I think this is something that I need to work on, because pushing myself will only make me feel worse. When will I learn!
I was excited to wear my new shoes, but was sad to find out that they are KILLERS! Now I don't drink, I have nothing to numb the pain!!
We got to the event at 4pm, the sun was shining, everyone was glammed up and it was just lovely. Luke started his set and as per usual everyone loved him. He's such a good singer and performer, I always love watching him. I hope he remembers me when he's famous!! We sat down on the terrace to watch him, which was really nice as there was a breeze coming from outside and it also meant I could rest a little. I kept drinking lots of water throughout the day to keep myself hydrated. There was also a BBQ outdoors, which was serving the usual burgers and sausages but they also had grilled chicken breast in pittas. I was able to have the chicken breast with some side salad, just without the pitta, which was yummy! After eating I felt a lot better and it perked me up. I sat back down to eat, and also people watch! I loved looking at everyone's lovely outfits, and everyone at the event seemed so friendly and happy to be there. It really is a great thing to be able to raise money for charity and get everyone involved, and what an great charity Coppafeel is. The lady who started the charity was at the event and she gave a talk to inform the guests about the charity's work. I had heard about it before but didn't know in detail what they did. The young lady's name was Kris and six years ago at age 23, she found a lump in her breast which was then diagnosed as breast cancer. Kris was at stage four of breast cancer, which is the most advanced stage and it had spread to her spine as well as her breast. She stared radiotherapy straight away, but devastatingly, there is no cure for her cancer. It can be managed, but never cured. Instead of mope around, Kris amazingly set up the charity Coppafeel to raise awareness, and get other young girls (as well as guys) to check their boobs and change the stigma of it only being an older women's illness. Listening to Kris really put things into perspective for me. Everyone has their daily dramas, and things going on in their lives, but we all need to appreciate what we have. What an amazing, inspirational woman she is.

As sad as it is that cancer exists, it is also amazing what people will do to help raise money and awareness. As well as throwing a fabulous party, Ferne and Lydia are also completing the Machu Picchu trek in Peru to raise even more money for the Coppafeel charity. So after a fabulous weekend, I started my Monday as usual with a swim and smoothie. Only today, I had to stop at Holland and Barrett on my way to work to get some much needed vitamin C tablets. After a couple of late nights and few naughty treats, I'm back to being healthy and determined to be fighting fit for Vegas in THREE DAYS!!!

DeleteFor those on a budget, cost of boob job will depend largely on what you can afford and where you have your surgery carried out.
