I truly believe laughter is the best medicine, and you can't beat good times with your friends.
Last night I went out to Cirque Le Soir in London with friends to celebrate my sisters 19th birthday. It was her birthday while we were in Turkey, so I wanted to plan a special night out for her with her friends when we were home. Ellie hadn't ever been to Cirque so that's where we had decided. It's such a cool club, all circus themed with people in constumes walking around and really good fun. Everyone was up for it! Mum had made cakes and strawberry bellinis for 'prinks' and packed crisps and waters in a bag for the taxi ride home! (She is a keeper!)

Throughout my teens I've always loved going out to parties and clubs and quite often enjoyed being the drunkest one there, but when I got my diagnosis I knew this would change. One of the first things I thought was if I would able to get drunk with my friends anymore, and I felt upset. It was almost like I had to grieve the life I had been living ... Which does sound silly, but it was how I felt. I wouldn't be able to down drinks, play drinking games and have jäger bombs anymore, but that didn't mean that I couldn't still have fun. The doctors and nurses in the hospital told me that so many young people have Crohns and still live a normal life and I was determined to be the same. I've read up on lots of tips from other sufferers and found it really helpful. People had recommended to drink clear spirits and said a good gin would be the best. But the tricky thing was mixers, as I can't have carbonated drinks or fruit juices. My mum had struck again, and thought to shake the tonic water to make it flat which worked perfectly!! This meant that I could have a couple of 'safe' drinks before I went out and join in with 'prinks' ha.

I had such a good night, and finding that I'm able to have a sober night out which is still enjoyable is amazing. Everyone woke up this morning with very sore heads and I woke up fresh and ready to go again!
